They are like positive identification
on a dim noun, the reverb on a name,
somebody who says no, this man is me,
the one you love. They are like shadows
that overwhelm their objects, incomplete
souls in need of explanations and proofs.
These echoes, justifications of the already
said, descriptions of ever-increasing nerve,
they articulate what we can already name
while the verb verbalizes what we will become.
