In Ancient Greek it means to leave out,
but it really means to leave open–
a door and maybe some windows,
to let the air in, as much as wants in.
And if you count everything unstated,
or a name unsaid, you will feel the rustling
tumbling through, a thing more tangible
than any bare branches of comprehension.
The said-unsaid rustles through these yards
whirling unnoticed around corners
and between broken walls
like the disembodied wings of ghosts
or some improbable truth.
